I am a creator \u2013 my daily life varies from one day to another: in the role of a professor, coach, consultant, and entrepreneur. I am well-disciplined (maybe not always with food), ambitious, progressive in thinking, analytical, and I am rarely satisfied with a second-best solution. I draw my inspiration from an interest in people and the desire for success at all levels of life.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In my role as a professor, I teach International Marketing, Cross-culture, International Sales, Marketing Controlling, Industrial Goods Marketing, and International Export Management at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (HSBI).<\/h5><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

In addition to teaching, I also work as a business consultant, aiming to drive changes with my clients. This involves analysis, gaining insights, setting goals and procedures, implementing them, and monitoring the achievement of goals.<\/h5><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

To stay up-to-date, it is very helpful to combine academic and business environments. This enables continuous knowledge transfer. In the role of an entrepreneur, new challenges constantly arise. This benefits both real business and science. As an active member of the advisory board member of three companies, I assist management on strategic issues.<\/h5><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

Another component of my daily work is acting as a sparring partner and good listener in private or professional matters. In coaching sessions, I always try to make participants stakeholders. Where am I from? <\/mark><\/h2>

From the M\u00fcnsterland in northwestern Germany, born in M\u00fcnster, and raised in a small business household where I was introduced early to business management concepts and thinking.

Discipline and ambition paired with diligence, honesty, and friendliness were the essential pillars of my upbringing. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

How have I developed?<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Hauptschule\u2019 \u2013 through higher commercial school and completing an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk, I studied with a focus on marketing and finance at the University of Paderborn, graduating as a business economist. After realizing that life has so much to offer but does not just fall into your lap, I was driven by ambition, paired with perseverance, to pursue a doctorate at Munich University of Technology alongside my first job. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

My professional career began with international marketing in a French corporation \u2013 Saint Gobain. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

3 years later, I became head of exports for an owner-managed world market leader in fastening technology for 4 years, traveling to over 100 countries, founding 7 foreign subsidiaries, and having a lot of fun discovering the world and different cultures. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

My last professional position brought me, my wife, and our two daughters back to our homeland. I first took on the role of division manager at a larger owner-managed SME and after a year, I became a member of the executive board for marketing and sales<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

After many exciting but also intense years, it was time for me to focus more on my family and find stability. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Thus, after 5 years, a tenured professorship that was offered to me by Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences came at the right time and my travel activity decreased significantly in favor of my family. This was probably my most exciting project as it was so different from the previous 20 years in business. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Since entrepreneurship has always fascinated me and I wanted to remain closely connected to industry, I became a shareholder in several companies alongside my professorship. Additionally, I have been advising and consulting companies in sales and strategy for over 20 years. Through close collaboration in consulting projects, cooperation often develops on a personal level in the form of coaching. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Where have I been around the world? <\/h2>

I have traveled to over 100 countries during my extensive time as head of exports. No continent was left out.
\u2022 I have lived in M\u00fcnster, Telgte, Paderborn, Hong Kong, New York, Chamb\u00e9ry (France), Ennepetal, and again M\u00fcnster \/ Telgte.
\u2022 And yet, throughout this time, I have remained connected to my homeland \u2013 the beautiful M\u00fcnsterland \u2013 to enjoy time with family and friends. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
